Your Excellency Mr. President Fischer, distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen.
On behalf of Association of Korean Residents in Austria, I’d like to thank you all for being here today to share this historic event together.
For the last 5 decades, Korean community in Austria has contributed to the promotion of cordial relations between Austria and Korea. Today, we are here to witness a new era of the relations.
It is really significant in many ways because the cooperation of many organizations and individuals can make this Korean Cultural House successfully established.
Many Austrian and Korean individuals and organizations donated over 1.2 Million Euros in a short period of time to enable this project to take place.
Austrian and Korean governments have also made important contributions. Special thanks should be given to the City of Vienna and the 22nd District in finding a way to make this building available. Also, the Embassy of Republic of Korea and the Overseas Koreans Foundation deserve thank for their contributions.
But the significance of this occasion extends beyond the opening of Korean Cultural House. The aspiration of the cultural and educational meaning of this Korean Cultural House for Korean residents and Austrians, especially young generations, in the years ahead is the most important dimension.
Another important reason of the opening of Korean Cultural House is because it represents network among Korean residents and both peoples of two countries.
In closing, thank you all for making this event so special. I wish the success of the Korean Cultural House and health and happiness of all of you.
